Philadelphia: L.G. Grund Co., Logan Station, c.1900-1920. [1]p., Circular, 9¼ x 5¾ inches + [2]pp., Circular, 9½ x 6 inches + [20]pp, Booklet, 5¾ x 3¼ inches, wrappers, stapled, illustrations. Fine condition.
Three items issued by L.G. Grund Co. of Philadelphia, wholesale buyers of medicinal roots, barks, herbs, leaves, seeds, &c. Here the company solicits the public to offer them large quantities-"Shipments should not be less than 100 lbs."-of various botanic remedies.
One circular lists 65 herbs etc. for which they were seeking, giving the common name for each herb as well some of its alternative or regional names. The other circular lists the prices L.G. Grund Co. will pay per pound. To assist their vendors in finding these herbs, the company also published the Medicinal Root and Herb Plants 20-page booklet with drawings of medicinal root and herb plants.
