About This Item

Paris: Librairie Damascène Morgand, 1903. paper wrappers, glassine jacket. Poetry. 8vo. paper wrappers, glassine jacket. (v), 574-804 pages. Bulletin Mensuel, No. 58--Décembre 1903. Monthly catalogue issued by the Paris bookseller Damascène Morgand, which by 1903 was operated by Édouard Rahir (Blogie 673). This bulletin is devoted exclusively to French poetry and includes several illustrations reproduced from the items offered for sale. The wrappers are discolored, especially at the edges. The front wrapper has come loose almost completely at the hinge and is missing a small piece (less than one inch in diameter) near the upper left corner; the back wrapper has a crack at the top near the hinge but is otherwise firmly attached . The edges of the leaves are worn, but the text block is solid and complete. A loosely laid-in bookplate indicates that this copy came from the H. P. Kraus reference library and stock.

About Oak Knoll Books/Oak Knoll Press

Oak Knoll Books was founded in 1976 by Bob Fleck, a chemical engineer by training, who let his hobby get the best of him. Somehow making oil refineries more efficient using mathematics and computers paled in comparison to the joy of handling books. Oak Knoll Press, the second part of the business, was established in 1978 as a logical extension of Oak Knoll Books. Oak Knoll Books is a thriving company that maintains an inventory of about 20,000 titles. Our main specialties are books about bibliography, book collecting, book design, book illustration, book selling, bookbinding, bookplates, children's books, Delaware books, fine press books, forgery, graphic arts, libraries, literary criticism, marbling, papermaking, printing history, publishing, typography & type specimens, and writing & calligraphy - plus books about the history of all of these fields.
