Sotheby's, London, auction catalogue for the sales held on 17th and 18th June, 1993. Illustrated boards, 4to,. 211 pp in double-column format, numerous plates, some in colour. 1097 lots. Aboussouan was for many years the Lebanese representative to UNESCO, According to the catalogue introduction, "The principal enthusiasm which informed his collecting was the flow of ideas from East to West, and the role played in that process by what is today the Lebanon." His library was notable for its rare works on the history of the Lebanon, Islam and the East, its French illustrated books, and exceptional works generally from the 15th to the 19th centuries.
