Very Good: shows light wear to extremities; mild rubbing; three tiny insect holes along front hinge; faint soiling; backstrip shows a hint of sunning but gilt titles thereon appear unaffected, remaining bold and clearly legible. Binding secure; text clean. Despite noted flaws, remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. 426pp. Blue cloth over boards with calligraphed "AL" designs at front panel and gilt titles at backstrip. Illustrated by Many Glossy Photos. "illustrated with many reproductions from original Paintings, Photographs, et cetera". First Published in 1895 by McClure, this biography went through numerous printings until republished as a "New Edition with New Matter" in 1917. This impression appeared in 1924. Hardback: No DJ 'as issued'.
