The 1838 edition had 252 pages. Here, pages 258-288 encompass an Appendix of "Sketches of the Sioux," "Colonization of the Indians," "Indian Dancing Ceremonies," and "Sale of Whiskey to the Indians". Illustrated with 8 woodcuts. Benjamin Drake was the younger brother of famed Kentucky physician, Daniel Drake. Historian Benjamin was also co-founder and editor of the 'Cincinnati Chronicle' .
