New endpapers. Light tanning to page margins. Particularly well-preserved; tight, bright, clean and strong. Further scans, images and additional bibliographical material available on request. ; 8vo 8"" - 9"" tall; 624 pages; 1st edition, later issue. xiv, 624p. 39 plates; 22cm. This rare edition of Nicholas Nickleby features 39 illus. by Hablot K. Brown (i.e. Phiz) and a steel-engraved frontispiece portrait engraved by Finden after the painting by David Maclise. Issue points include letter rather than latter, p.160.
