Thick octavo, [three volumes], xxx, 636pp; x, 672pp; x, 734pp. Brown cloth, title in gilt, thin trim stamped in blind on front and rear. Four bands across spine. All three volumes with solid text blocks, with some rubbing to corners and toning to edges. Previous ownership inscription on front free endpaper of Volume I. Shelf wear to each copy, cloth lifting along spine, some wear to gilt titles. Clean text blocks. Frontispiece portrait with tissue guard in all three volumes (Martin / Goehlert 2750) (Sabin 58952) (Howes P112).
