A very scarce set bound in contemporary brown buckrum with gilt titleand heraldic device on spine and blind decoration to boards, orange endpapers showing signs of sometime exposia to damp, just darkened , a small amount of foxing to the first and last pages , handsome book plate on fpd of Sir James Macaulay Higginson KCB he himself was Govenor of Antiqua 1847-50 & Mauritius 1851-57 (we obtained this book with the entire library of Ballyrankin house Co Wexford close family connections) both vols with signature j m higginson vol 1516pp. Vol11 644pp . First Edition. Hard Back Brown Decorated Boa. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall Two Vols.
