About This Item
William Blackwood, Edinburgh and London; fifth edition, 1831. Leather binding with dentelle decoration, both gilt and embossed. Boards have some shelfwear to edges and hinges, and minor bumping at the corners; there is some very minor separation at the top of the front hinges at the back corners of vol I. There is minor scarring on the back panel of vol II. The boards of vol II has some very slight curvature. The text blocks are both in tidy condition. Internally, there is foxing to the inner endpapers and to title page and frontispiece of each vol. The tissue guard for the frontispiece of vol I is missing. A previous owner's bookplate is tipped in to the front endpaper of vol I, and the inside front cover of vol II. The text pages are clean and bright. The bindings are tight.
