The San Francisco News, 1934. First Edition. Trade Paperback. 14 by 10-1/4 inches. Fourteen clippings of the serially published story Dickens wrote for his children to explain his faith. Facsimile of the first page of the original manuscript printed on the rear cover. Written during the years 1846-1849 and first published 64 years after his death, appearing in about 300 newspapers beginnng in March 1934. A near fine copy; light uneven fading to the cover. In a good copy of the original mailing envelope (unused postally). With two copies of the sixth installment published in the San Francisco Examiner included.
Synopsis
The Life of Our Lord: Written for His Children During the Years 1846 to 1849 by Charles Dickens was actually not intended to be a published work, and is simply a father explaining the life of Christ to his children, in his own words.
