About This Item
New York, Grove Press, 1978, hardcover, 95 pp, First Edition stated, First Printing stated, Association Copy, Signed, stamped and inscribed to actor Ed Asner by the Author with his unique "Chicago" chop and Mr. Asner's name and address stamp to the front endpaper, "To Ed Asner with love from a fellow Chicagoan", Very Good in Very Good dustjacket. Tightly bound and clean with no other markings, slight lean, light spine-end bumps, slight fading to board edges. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, light edge nicks, slight rubs, touch of dampstain to upper edge, in new Brodart sleeve. In this early work the prolific American playwright, essayist, screenwriter, and author presents a series of short, spare, and increasingly raw exchanges between two actors: John, young and rising into the first flush of his success; and Robert, older, anxious, and beginning to wane. The original small print run of this work makes the book difficult to find in first edition and signed copies are very scarce. ISBN 9780394501581
