About This Item

The First UK printing published by Collins, London in 1936. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. The publisher's original boards with blue titling to the spine. Light fading of the board edges with slight pushing at the spine ends. Some offsetting to the end-papers with mild spotting to the prelims. Light toning and spotting to the text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Light edge-wear with a small area of loss at the upper spine but not involving any lettering. Some toning and fading to the spine. Light markings to the rear panel with a small area of sticker removal to the lower spine. A 5cm closed tear to the upper front spine edge. The Isobel Beard wrapper artwork remains very attractive in the removal Brodart archival cover. The author's rare third novel is a brilliant satire of the PR and advertising industries. Extremely elusive in any condition, more-so with the scarce wrapper. More images available on request. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.
