About This Item

New York: Whitney Library of Design, 1964. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good+/very good. Presumed first edition, 1964, hardcover, quarto, 228pp., heavily illustrated in b&w. Book VG+ with hint of edge wear to spine ends and corners, binding tight, previous owner's signature to front flyleaf, text clean bright and unmarked. DJ VG with some edge wear that includes a few small closed and an open tear and their related creases, in protective mylar wrap. "In the text of this book the author explains his own theory of lighting which is that quality of light is more important than quantity. There is nothing new or startling about this thesis, of course, but it is necessary to re-state it rather emphatically now because the trend has been toward the highest possible quantity often without regard for quality.
