New York: Harper & Brother Publishers, 1866. xx, 17-308, [2],317, [5], 14-367, [1] p. Index, p. [359]-367. Illustrated with engravings. Three volumes in publisher's original olive cloth ornately stamped in gilt, pale peach end papers. Near Fine, light wear at spine ends and corners, title leaf Vol. I detached, first peach end papers in Vols. I and III roughly removed, prior owner name in pencil that page of Vol. II. Originally published in 2 volumes in 1855, Bonner added Vol. III in 1866 in response to R.G. Horton's "A Youth's History of the Great Civil War in the United States, from 1861 to 1865", which was pro-South, pro-state rights, pro-slavery, anti-Republican Party, and anti-Abraham Lincoln. SCARCE in lovely collectible condition, RareBookHub shows last copy sold at auction in 1921. . First Edition Thus. Decorative Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
