Petersen Lincolniana book plate on the upper left hand corner of the front pastedown; This book is a history of the Lincoln Papers, a collection of papers that were donated to the Library of Congress by James Buchanan in 1857. The papers date from the time Lincoln was in office, from April 1861 to July 1861. The book contains selections from the papers that date from April 1861 to July 1861, and it tells the story of Lincoln's presidency and the Civil War.; Vol. 1; 8vo ; 332 pages; 51216: two volume set .
