About This Item
New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1947. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. First edition, 8vo, 316 pp. Early novel from the German American author and screenwriter perhaps best known for his book, "White Hunter Black Heart," which was made into a movie by Clint Eastwood nearly 40 years after it was originally published. This work, set during WWII, tells the story of a newly married, young couple as they navigate the shock of separation. Very good in publisher's gray boards with wear at spine ends and corners. Jacket very good with some toning to spine and rear panel. Rubbing, wear, and light chipping at head, heel, and along folds.
