About This Item

London: Croom Helm [etc.] [for] the University of Leeds,. Hardback. First Edition. Large format: 14" x 10" (35.5cm x 25.5cm) Unpaginated. Linguistic and dialect maps throughout: phonological maps, lexical maps, syntactical maps, morphological maps, etc. In new, professionally made slipcase. Grey cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine is very clean and bright. Pages are crisp. Gift note in poor quality calligraphy to prelim. Copy has been professionally repaired including the tiny strips of mull (webbing that holds the book to the boards) being replaced with a full length strip for the entire height of the book which is far more suited to the weight of the test block. The endpapers where then replaced with a heavier weight paper. This heavy text block is now more securely cased in its original boards and will last a very long time. A new slipcase, covered in black cloth, has also been professionally made. Near fine, bright copy in fine slipcase . Hardback. First Edition. 1978.
