About This Item

1st Edition / 1st Printing, 1974. 32pp. Original pictorial boards. No dustwrapper (as issued). Very Good condition with no inscriptions. Splendidly illustrated in colour and black/white by Edward Ardizzone with Venetian scenes.

Bianca loved visiting her uncle and aunt and cousin Toni in their little café in the Campo San Stefano; she enjoyed the gaiety and bustle of life in Venice, she thought her Uncle Niccolo`s ice-creams the tastiest in the world, and her cousin was so clever and full of surprises. But not even Toni had suspected that the worm brass ring was anything more exciting than a curtain ring, or that the old stone lion would earn itself the reputation of being the only statue in Venice to have flown across Europe and touched down in the Piazza di Trafalgar in faraway England!
