Sydney and London: Collins, 1976. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Signed and dated by Souter on the title page. Panoramic history of Australia from the birth of the commonwealth to its climactic ordeal by fire in the First World War. 14 colour illustrations, 35 black-and-white drawings, and 6 textual drawings. Tall octavo. Original rust cloth binding, with gilt titles. The boards are slightly bowed, with a bit of wear to the corners and tips. Some sun fading along the spine of the dust jacket; otherwise very good.
