About This Item
New York: Bill Henry, 1854. Unbound. Very Good. Theodore Sedgwick. Color lithograph. Size is 13" X17". Image size is 14" X 9". This litho was folded into the 1854 edition of the 2-volume "History of the World " by Samuel Mauder. The litho is attributed to Theodore Sedgwick in fine print. It is particularly scarce; most copies of the 2-volume set include a litho of the London Crystal Palace (which is also available from Asterisk Books). The Great Exhibition at the Crystal Place was the first world's fair held in America. The building burned down in 1858.The print has a close tear running into the left side of the image. The tear has been repaired from behind with removable archival paper tape. The print is eminently frameable with very attractive subtle coloring. The print will ship folded.
