Turkish marbled endpapers and greek key tooled pattern, with title and author to spine. Rubbing and softening to leather. Inscription to title page: Dear Mamma in memory of.. [Little Bessie]. The memorial biography of an apparently religiously faithful and unusually charming child, who died at the age of 10. Advertisements from time of publication highlight the faith-building tenets of the story, as well as suggesting comfort to those additionally bereaved.
