Originally written anonymously in Ancona, Italy, in the early 14th century, this book is a collection of stories about St. Francis and his band of followers. The Latin original is lost; much of the material is attributed to a Brother Ugolino. Many other, unknown friars were no doubt responsible for the content of this book.
