Description:
New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1896. First Edition, First Issue . Blue Cloth. Very Good. Top edge gilt, deckled edges. Probable first issue with ads for 1895 books at front, no indication of printing; binding of gilt and blue cloth as others in series. A bright, clean, near new copy, pages aged; pinpoint rubbing at tips and a few points on spine edges, but frayed just along top and bottom edge of spine. Signed "Mrs Mary A. Clark" [wife of Senator William A. Clark, mother of Willam Andrews Clark Jr., in memory of whom he created the Mary Andrews Clark Memorial Home for working women in Los Angeles, and creator of the William Andrews Clark Memorial Library in memory of his father; this book being amongst others from the Clark estate and signed by Clark or annotated as such, probably sold off by the library as a duplicate at some time], with a quote from Hubbard "The Law of Compensation Never Rests", the whole being mis-dated Feb 1889 but clearly original.
