A tight, solid, clean volume. Library re-bound in red vine-type decorated cloth with red spine, gilt titles. Lib pocket on endpaper, stamp on bottom edge. Internals clean and free of any markings, no creases. Illustrated Title Page. Binding tight & solid. Frontis: full portrait of Raphael, tissue protected, red stamped with "Raphael". Each section of the book is about a different artist and starts with a full page portrait of that artist. The last one in the book of Whistler is also tissue protected with red lettering. The portrait of Abbey has a closed tear on the upper edge, and a light stain on that edge. Pages 305-312 have a small closed tear on the upper edge. Artists include Raphael, Leonardo, Botticelli, Thorwaldsen, Gainsborough, Velasquez, Corot, Correggio, Bellini, Cellini, Abbey, and Whistler. 357 pages. 8 x 6 inches.
