Brown paper wraps stained as well as the ffep; page edges poorly opened resulting in uneven edges and some tears. Typical advertisements after the text; inside front cover and on the back cover along with an excerpt from "A Letter to Garcia." Sold by monthly instalments, this is number 4 of 12 set. ALSO included is No. 5, May 1901 ; Sebastian Bach. Missing parts of dedication and half title as well as the portrait insert. Elbert Hubbard founded the community in 1895, in the village of East Aurora, New York, near Buffalo. Participants were known as Roycrofters. The work and philosophy of the group, often referred to as the Roycroft movement, had a strong influence on the development of American architecture and design in the early 20th century."
