[no significant wear to book, but with a previous owner's name plus place & date of purchase written in ink at the top of the front endpaper; the jacket shows only a touch of edgewear]. q Murder mystery centering around the rivalry amongst the citizens of a little English village, who are all vying to represent the place on an international radio broadcast. An early Barnard mystery (his second), first published in England in 1976 but only in America after his reputation had been established in a half-dozen later books. .
