Pictorial yellow front cover, back cover gone. Penciled marks last page, else clean. Some edgewear. Illustrated with 8 uncredited hand-colored wood cuts. Stereotyped by Vincent Dill, Beekman Street, NYC. . Humorous early American rhymed version. First stanza: In a little thatched cot, by the side of a wood/ lived an innocent lass, Little Red Riding Hood/ You would scarce find her equal the neighbours all say/ so kind and obedient, so cheerful and gay. In this version the wolf devours Little Red.
