Some full page engravings; each chapter with initial drop cap and pictorial tail piece vignettes; unidentified illustrator. Little Rudy is the Andersen story elsewhere called 'The Ice Maiden'. Other stories and their elsewhere translated titles are: The Butterfly, Psyche, The Snail and the Rosebush (Rose Tree), Twelve by the Mail (The Mail Coach Passengers), A Rose from the Grave of Homer, The Racers (Races). The title work and the first four of the Other Stories were first published in Danish in 1861; their first English translation (and American edition) in 1863. This appears to be the 2nd or 3rd US appearance of the Ice Maiden. The translator is not credited. 16mo, 167 pp.
