Usa: Little, Brown & Company. Fair with no dust jacket. 1926. Reprint. Hardcover. Hardcover is in fair/acceptable condition with binding is cracked at the half title page. No dust jacket but the book probably never had one. Edges of the spine are frayed. Corners of covers are bumped. A child had colored and drawn on the end pages and on the fly pages. Small gift inscription is written on the front fly page and is dated 1928. Pastedown on the front cover is rubbed and has some pen marks. Front fly page has one tear that was taped by a previous owner. One of the illustration plates (page 7) is missing but the rest of them are still attached to the text block. A few light stains to the page margins. Black cloth on the spine is faded to brown and the text is barely legible. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 397 pages .
Synopsis
Little Women (or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy) is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888). Written and set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House, in Concord, Massachusetts, it was published in two parts in 1868 and 1869. The novel follows the lives of four sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March—and is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters.
