Originally published in the 16th Century. This deluxe Heritage Press reprint edition includes 13 color reproductions on gloss plates by various artists, as well as woodcut portraits by Vasari which were made for the 1568 edition. Translated from the Italian by Mrs. Jonathan Foster. Selected, edited, and with an introduction by Marilyn Aronberg Lavin. Sandglass leaflet not present. --- In decorated maroon paper-covered boards backed in maroon cloth, with gilt-stamped titling & decorations to spine. Slipcase covered in maroon paper which matches the covers. --- An about Near Fine copy: bright, tightly-bound and unmarked. Structurally sound slipcase with some chafing to paper covering. (Due to the considerable weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested.); Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; (6), 386 pages .
