Striking hand-colored folio lithograph from McKenney & Hall's History of the Indian Tribes of North America. Mckenney commissioned Charles Bird King to paint many of the 143 portraits of Native Americans that were created into the published lithographs, before ultimately the original paintings were lost in a fire. Accompanied by 4 pages of folio text. Top edge gilt. A very bright clean well painted copy with no foxing or defacements.
