Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1982. Hardcover. First Edition, First Impression. 5.5 x 8.25in. xvii. 469pp. Publisher's cloth boards. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper: 'for Van, with best wishes, Fred.' The inscription is to his contemporary, Willard Van Orman Quine. NEAR FINE in Very Good dust jacket protected in a removable archival cover. The book itself shows the slightest shelf rubbing of the corners, else Fine/As New. The dust jacket shows some light scuffing and a short closed tear of the front panel, otherwise remains bright, colorful, and distinct. As pictured.
