FIRST EDITION, FIRST Impression with the Correct Printer's Key - 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1. Mid Blue boards with deep black titling to the spine. In the original publishers' pictorial dustjacket. The dustjacket is NOT price clipped, but there MAY be the tiniest fading to the base colours of the spine, but all lettering, etc, very clear and bright - IF it has faded it is negligible - the 3/4 wrap-over design is intact and all detail/images visible and clear. There is a small (1/2 cm triangular) surface/paper loss to the top front corner of the d/j spine, and a small nick (0.1cm) on the other side of the top of the d/j spine - both losses now coloured to match the blue of the d/j and goes unnoticed unless you really squint hard at it, as the dustjacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Fine. NO Inscriptions or Marks. The page edges/paper is, as usual, uniformly but lightly browning (type of paper used). (8) + 282 pp. Overall a VG copy, Very Clean, Tight and Bright. The First book by British Author John Harvey in the highly acclaimed Detective-Inspector Charlie Resnick series, & was named by 'The Times' as one of the '100 Best Crime Novels of the Century'. Synopsis

John Harvey is the author of the richly-praised sequence of ten Charlie Resnick novels, the first of which, Lonely Hearts , was named by The Times as one of the ‘100 Best Crime Novels of the Century.’ In 2004, William Heinemann published Flesh and Blood , the first novel featuring retired Detective Inspector Frank Elder. He is also a poet, dramatist and occasional broadcaster.
