Gil Hamilton is a psychic detective working for ARM, Earth's global police force. These three novellas that are "among the finest examples of the SF detective story." - Anatomy of Wonder (2004) II-804. The series is continued in THE PATCHWORK GIRL (1980), and FLATLANDER (1995) includes some later Gil Hamilton stories. The criminal activities usually involve "organ legging," which also feature in other short stories and in the Known Space novel A GIFT FROM EARTH (1969).
