Bright and clean with gilded top edge in original tissue wraps that show wear at top of spine. In original publishers slipcase which has nice tape repairs with fine paper label on slipcase front., #206 of 270 copies of which 260 were for sale. The novel begins in Hill Town.There were twenty-seven log houses in Hill Town, North Carolina, counting the jail and the shack where Major Tyrell kept his niggers.And now in the springtime, with the sycamores just purring out along the street and , above, the sky pure blue except for a pearly vapor over the gap in the mountains to the west, it looked like a pretty town. Long Hunt is a very interesting and rare period novel, set in the nineteenth century south east.
