Later printing of US edition; first published in England by Hodder & Stoughton as Sheila in the Wind. Green cloth, gilt device on front board and titles on spine, endpaper maps, frontis. portrait, [viii], 319 pp, map, 3 ff photos not paginated, index. A couple of small spots on boards, else fine. DJ has a 2" tear at top of front panel at joint, smaller closed tears to 1 cm, moderate edge wear, price clipped, but still bright with minimal rubbing; in Brodart archival cover. From DJ: "Adrian Hayter sailed alone from England to New Zealand, stopping at war-torn outposts, corrupt backwaters and havens of primitive beauty, meeting people of many countries--in comradeship, in violence or in idyllic love. His six-year voyage was fraught with hardships and danger as well as extraordinary inward experience." The map shows his route along the Mediterranean coast of Africa, through the Suez canal and Red Sea, with further ports of call in east Africa, the Arabian peninsula, the west coast of India, Malaysia, Bali, and Australia. Books are offered subject to prior sale. You may return any book within 14 days for a refund; if it was not as described, we will also refund return shipping costs (but please e-mail us first). You can place credit card orders through Biblio, or we will ship upon receipt of payment by check or money order. Sales tax is collected by Biblio and remitted directly to your state, where applicable. SHIPPING IN UNITED STATES: Books are priced postpaid, so there are no additional shipping charges for standard shipping. We will ship via Priority Mail for $12.00 per order (Save on multiple-book orders!). This may be reduced if actual postage is less than for a medium flat-rate box. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: In most cases, shipping via Biblio's consolidated shipping program via Asendia is the cheapest option on orders up to 5 lbs. If the actual cost of shipping is more than the automatically quoted rate, you must approve the additional charges before the order will be shipped. Shipping charges will be reduced if shipping weight is under 3 lbs. All shipping charges (except via Asendia) include 17% to cover Biblio fees and commissions that apply to these charges.
