New York, New York: Cowles Communication inc., Iowa, January 1968. Stapled Soft Cover . Very Good. (10&1/2' x 13') Magazine. John Lennon cover by Avedon. General wear from four plus decades of handling and storage and time spent within the earth's environment. Worn along staple edge. Fold is split one inch from bottom along same staple-edge. Likewise there is a tiny bit of tear & bruising at top corner of this same side. Staples remain intact and sound. Full color cover is bright. Centerfold 4-full page fold out poster of 4-Beatles remains intact & attached (down to & including the 6' x 4' stapled in cardstock Columbia Record Club return form. Confusingly the publishers count this bit of emphera in the page count. I am sure it was necessary and helpful for reasons of production. Less helpful 52 years on when attempting to collate and appraise this magazine. A white letters upon black rectanglar saying: 'Calfornia's Incredibles from Hippies to Hell's Angles,' was added & glued on in production. And this piece is partially detached on left side, but is still soundly affixed on right. The curled side is a bit creased. Overall very good condition, and an excellent collector's copy. In 1968 Look was 2nd only to Life magazine for influence and popularity. Three decades (more or less) before the internet began to grab the attention (and ever diminishing attention span) of the masses by the hand and/or throat, these weekly general interest publications were one of by today's standard a few places folks could go for there news and information. Due largely to their great photography both Life and Look were more influential than today's consummers of culture can easily conceive.
