London: WILLIAM ANDREWS & CO. Very Good+ with no dust jacket. 1899. Presumed First Edition. Hardcover. Former Owner's name in faded ink and his name stamp on the front pastedown. The same stamp at the top of the reverse of the Frontispiece. Decorated e/p's. Original Publishers Green Cloth bound boards with bright gilt titling to spine. Corners are 'bumped - but No loss. Extremities show very slight signs of wear but overall VG Plus covers. Top edge gilt. Black and white frontispiece of St Alban's Shrine, with tissue guard. Uniform browning to pages, and a few pages have been roughly cut/opened. ALL hinges secure. Contents include; Religion. Folklore. Myths. Legend. Supernatural. Mysterious. Pagan. Church. History. Welsh Interest. Cornish Interest. Satanic Possession. Christianity. Ghosts. Divination. Witchcraft. Wakes. , etc, etc. (xi) + 270 pp + 10 pp book 'list of publications of William Andrews & Co' at end. A Very Good, TIGHT AND BRIGHT copy. As I have had 2 variants of this 1899 Edition in the past there is also a copy in a Cherry coloured cloth - but which has precedence. ? ....anyones guess really - apart from the cloth colours and the Frontispiece thay are identical and are possibly just that - variant cloth colours? ? ; 000755; 8vo .
