George Routledge & Sons Ltd, London, 1930. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Fair Condition/No Dust Jacket. List of illustrations. Illustrated frontispiece  being a sculptural bust of Lorenzo de Medici. The text is illustrated with 11 black-and-white reproductions of Renaissance artwork. Red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. A biography of the Renaissance Prince Lorenzo de Medici, of his time, politics and of his art patronage, the artists that he supported and the resultant artwork. The book is showing age and use  please see photograph. Softening, rubbing and fraying of the backstrip edges with some splits along the rear spine gutter edge. Bumping, rubbing and a little fraying of the book corners. Patchy fading and staining to the book panels with the backstrip showing significant sunning and some foxing. Tanning of the textblock edges and lighter tanning of the pages. A previous owner has gone through and dogeared both the top right-hand corner and the lower right-hand corner of some of the pages. Rubs and marks to the end pages and the original bookseller's sticker is to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [12], 3 - 329, [5] pages,.
