Philadelphia: John C. Winston. Good in Good dust jacket. 1959. Third Printing. Hardcover. 209 p. 21.5 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. Predation to the spine ends and a little one the lower bottom edge. Top edge of text block has a tiny drip mark. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with slight toning. Dust jacket has been chewed at the spine ends and a little along the bottom edge. Spine faded. Rest of edges have a little wear. Rear panel has some pencil check marks. Rear panel has light soil. One of the John C. Winston series of science fiction books for older children. Jacket illustrated by Alex Schomburg. .

Sharp, clean Near Fine book - about as near fine as near fine gets, short of fine - in an about Very Good first-state (29-title) jacket with tiny sketch on front and sporadic roughening, most notably at spine ends. Jacket is not price-clipped, still bearing the original $2.00 price. See scans. Scarce first edition of a scarce title in a series which was immensely popular in the fifties and appears to be even more so now. If you're here - and you are - you know the Winston series of juvenile sci-fi novels, a 37-title series issued between 1952 and 1961.
