The Cunard line carries a glimmer of elegant ocean travel still somewhat evident in the Queen Mary docked as a hotel at Long Beach, Californa harbor, and in its current fleet. The Mauretania was built in 1939, in service for Cunard from 1939 to 1965. The Queen Elizabeth was built in 1940, in service for Cunard from 1946 to 1968. The Queen Mary was built in 1936, in service for Cunard from 1936 to 1967. All three of these ships served as troopships during World War II. [Wikipedia]
