1922, The Page Company, Boston MA. First Edition, First Printing. "First Impression, November, 1922" stated on copyright page. "A Romance of Byzantine Constantinople" set in the year 969. Beautiful black and white decorations throughout and four gorgeous full-page, color plates, all by Eric Pape. Red cloth boards and spine are straight and tight, bumped and lightly rubbed at the corners. Gilt decorations clear and intact. There is a former owner inscription in pencil on the decorated front free endpaper. Interior pages are clean and unmarked. Inscribed "Yours very Sincerely" and signed by the author opposite the half title page. A very rare book, with a rare author signature.
