Hardcover, blue cloth boards with gilt on front and spine. Exterior shows minor scuffing and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. The front pastedown contains the bookplate of the original owner (Gansey Russell Johnston) and there is faint indentation on the upper edge of the opposite end page of something that was once written in pencil and then later erased. No other handwriting found in the book. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is present but is separating from the hinge at the top by about 3 inches. No other page issues found.
