Hardcover. 8vo, 21cm, xvii,491 & xii,487 & xi,495pp., with 17 steel engraved plates including 3 frontis portraits, 51 wood engravings, rebound in blue buckram, gilt spine titles, a fine set (5.9) - Julia Pardoe (1806-1862), from Yorkshire, was noted for writings on Eastern life and European history. This work was published originally in 1847.
