Collins, 1964. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1964. First Edition. 384 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth. Includes black & white frontispiece and plates. Pages are moderately tanned and foxed throughout. Binding is weak. Pencil inscription to front endpaper. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Spine has crushing to both ends causing fraying to cloth. Spine is heavily tanned. Book has forward lean. White staining present.
Synopsis
Vincent Cronin published his first book, The Golden Honeycomb , an exploration of Sicily as a mythological land, in 1954. He has since built a reputation -- over a series of scholarly, elegantly written works of history and biography -- as one of the finest popular historians of his generation. He divides his time between France and Spain.
