About This Item
New York: Ballantine Books, 2017. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Signed by the author on the title page in bold black pen; not personalized to anyone. Number line in the work reads as follows: 2 4 6 8 9 7 5 3 1. Beneath this number line is stated "First Edition". Volume itself has red and brown covers with sharp gilt lettering on the spine. There is a touch of wear at the head and tail of the spine. Against a backdrop of post-Victorian vice, suffrage, and celebration, this work is a tale about colorful characters, fascinating historical details, and, insights about morality, race, and culture. Page 37 has a small dogear at the lower outer edge measured diagionally about 3/4 of an inch, I am attempting to straighten it out. Pages 65 to 70 appear to have had a large paper clip on them at one time. None of this affects use. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. On the front cover of the dj there is an autographed copy sticker. All in all, a quite nice copy; very conservatively graded, available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box!
