About This Item
Chicago: Seymour, Daughaday and Company, 2015. pages 107-160, followed by 7 unnumbered pages of ads . "Prufrock is on pp. 130-135. Written by Eliot while he was still a student at Oxford in 1910-1911, the poem was not published until 1915 in Poetry: A Magazine of Verse. It was the first professionally published work by Eliot, and it placed him at the forefront of the modernist movement. This first appearance of "Prufrock" is much more scarce than the 1917 book edition, and it seldom appears on the antiquarian book market. The magazine is in very good condition: generally clean and bright, with some vertical closed tears along the spine of the wraps; a very faint water stain limited to the bottom 1/4" of the front cover; one tiny dark stain at the bottom of the rear cover; several short closed tears and one tiny chip on the foreedge of the rear cover. In all an attractive, collectible copy of one of the high points of literature in English.. First Edition. Paperback. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Magazine.
