About This Item
Garden City NY: The Fireside Theatre. Near Fine in Near Fine dj. (c.1995). Book Club Edition. Hardcover. [nice clean copy, no discernible wear, just a touch of age-toning to the edges of the text block; jacket has a tiny bit of wear to the upper corners]. McNally's comedy/drama about a group of gay male friends who spend three summer holiday weekends at the summer house of one, a famous dancer/choreographer; they "troop out from the city's law offices, rehearsal studios and AIDS clinics to sun themselves beside the lake." The original production of this multiple Tony- and other-award-winning play starred Nathan Lane, John Glover and Stephen Bogardus; Lane was replaced by Jason Alexander for the unsuccessful 1997 film version. .
