Last ad page torn out. Ninth Edition. A scarce directory for all of the United States and Canada. Many equipment illustrations accompany the ads. The entries for railroads give track distances, gauges, directors and employees, and any economic and engine details provided by the railroad. The East India Telegraph Company is listed near the end, with mention of the circumglobal capability of the telegraph once the Transatlantic cable is laid.
