Light toning to cloth at headband, endpapers with faint discoloration from dust jacket. Stated "first edition" on copyright page. Lean to text block, but solid. In publisher's very good dust jacket, $2.00 on front flap, wear along top edge, bright illustrations and colors. A very good example. (Crane A20.a.i). A bestseller in 1935. This novel chronicles the life of Lucy Gayheart, a young girl from Haverford, near the Platte River in Nebraska.
